Chapter 26

• Bella’s POV
• After eating a little bit of food that Ivan ordered for me, I took a nap. I set the alarm for 1:00 pm. I got up and took a shower, did my make-up, and put on a new dress. I’ve been sitting on the bed for the last twenty-five minutes waiting on Ivan. True to his word he returns at 2:15 pm on the dot. His eyes roam up and down my body. No doubt making sure I was apparently dressed. He must be pleased in how I look, because he just says. “Let’s go.” I jump off the mattress and follow him downstairs. Kat is in the living room. She must have been waiting there for us to leave. She hauls her butt off the couch and runs up to me. Kat embraces me in a huge hug, while whispering in my ear. “I’m so sorry Bella. Please just do whatever he tells you to.” I nod my head to acknowledge her words.
• Kat’s actions must piss Ivan off because he breaks us apart and yells at her. “Go to your bedroom and stay. Don’t you dare leave until you receive your punishment. Enzo ordered you to keep away from Bella, and you misbehaved. So, it will be up to him to deliver your discipline.” Not being able to just stand idly by and watch Ivan yell at Kat, and I knew that she wouldn’t beg for forgiveness. So, I decided to do it for her. “Ivan, please there is no need to tell Enzo anything. She was just checking to make sure I was alright. Isn’t that what family is supposed to do for each other. Would you rather her not care about me?” I set out to defuse the situation but I only ended up making it worse. Ivan stalked over to me and backhands me right across my face, so hard I about fell. If it wasn’t for Kat then I would have.
