• “When you said your father arranged your marriage does that happen a lot in your family?” I ask Kat. “Yes, actually that is the way of our world. Alliances are made through marriage.” She answered me back. For some reason a weight got lifted up off my shoulders, I let out a sigh. “That means that Ivan is promised to someone, he won’t want to keep me here, right?”
• Kat looks away from me, before telling me. “Ivan was engaged to someone, but she passed away in a car accident a year ago. He’s not in a contract to be wed to anyone as of now, but that can always change. I can’t answer the question about him keeping you here, because this is something new to me. I wondered why he brought you here. There are so many women that would kill to be where you are right now. That’s what confused me the most. Why he would force you to be with him. Now that I have seen you, I realize why he did it. You are Beautiful. Enough talking of depressing things, Ivan did inform me that you and I will be dress shopping one day this week. We both need to get a suitable dress for my mother’s birthday party.”
