• Ivan’s POV
• I rub my forehead trying to get rid of this pounding head ache I have. The Cartel have been giving me nothing but trouble for the past couple of months. Then you throw Niki in on top of that and my life has been hell since Bella left. My phone ringing gets my mind off of my life. I glance at the caller ID and Theo’s name is popped up on the screen. I answer it, “What.” He answers me quickly, “I just wanted to let you know that our shipment of coke hasn’t made it to the harbor. It was due to dock at 10:00 pm. I’ve sent a couple of men out on the speed boat to have a look around. I’ll keep you posted.”
• Theo doesn’t wait for me to respond before he hangs up on me. He of all people knows what type of mood I have been in lately. I throw my phone on my desk wishing I could sling it across the room. I have a bad feeling that the Cartel are the ones who highjacked my missing inventory. Niki picks the worst times to come and visit with me. “Hey, love I wanted to go over some details about the wedding. I was wondering if we could move up the date for next month instead of waiting until May of next year?” My eyes shoot up and stare at her like she has lost her freaking mind. When we got engaged it was because she was pregnant with my heir, but it turned out that it was only a false positive. I’ve still not decided if I want to go through with this marriage. Her wretched voice brings me back out of my thoughts. “Ivan darling are you even listening to me? I don’t want to have to wait for us to be husband and wife. Please baby there is an open slot for the venue I really want, but it will be booked fast. So, I need to know if it will be ok with you?”
