Chapter 50

• Bella’s POV
• As Kat and I watch the men leave my hospital room, I can’t help but feel grateful. As soon as the door shuts behind them, I see the wheels in Kat’s eyes turning. She gives it a few minutes to make sure they aren’t still lingering around outside listening in on what we talk about. When she can’t possibly hold her questions in any longer, she blurts them all out at once to me. “So, how long has my brother been here with you? What did he say when he finally showed up? Did he tell you who it was that answered his phone? Are the two of you ok now?” She is going way to fast for me to keep up with what she is saying. So, I stop her. “Whoa please Kat one thing at a time. First let me tell you that he showed up right after your parents left the first time yesterday when it was time for me to feed Andrey. Then he came storming into the room, like everything was fine and dandy. When I got my nerve up and said something about a woman picked up the call when I rang him, he told me it was none of my business who it was or what he was doing. No, everything isn’t all right between us, has it ever been. He gets to fuck whoever he wants and brings his whore it what is supposed to be our house, and I have to deal with it. While I am not allowed to even leave the property. Which in a way I completely understand. What I did was fucked up, and I should be punished for it. I just thought that we were getting better in our relationship, but I guess I was wrong. When I caught him with that slut in his office, I bolted out of there like my ass was on fire. I ran to our room, and waited for him. I hoped he would follow me because if he did that meant that he loved me, but he never came. He stayed away from me to after that. I just don’t get why he forced me to marry him, when he doesn’t want me. It hurts to realize that the man I am stuck with for the rest of my life will continue to cheat on me and just throw it in my face. I mean even though I can’t do anything about it he could at least do it behind my back.”
• I sigh as tears begin to roll down my face. Kat jumps up and sits on the bed and hugs me the best she can. I’m still feeding Andrey and it makes it kind of hard for her. I change the subject so maybe I can think of something other than Ivan. “So, how is your marriage going. It seems that he is a lot more pleasant than I had originally thought. He looked genially happy just a few minutes ago. Not to mention that you also have a glow about you. Could it be that you are actually enjoying married life?” I pause so she can elaborate how she is feeling about her new husband. “Bella, I thought that it would be hell when I married Enzo, but to tell you the truth it’s not. I love him so much. Of course, he is strict and I still have to follow all of the rules that any wife of a made man would. I still get punished when I he deems that my actions are unbecoming of my station or status. But the sex is out of this world. Every morning, I wake up in his arms. He listens to what I say, and has tried to get to know the real me. The one under all the walls I have built to try and survive this world. I feel safe around him, and I can’t wait to be the mother of his children. I’m the happiest I have ever been in my life.”
