• Ivan’s POV
• As soon as we are back home, my job picks straight back up. Dad joins me in my office so we can go over the logistics for our next shipment of drugs. We have been having trouble with the Irish trying to poach our territory. They have been getting braver and it is about time that we shut them down for good. This is our city we run everything from illegal drugs to arms dealing. Nothing goes on here that we aren’t a part of, or didn’t approve. Last month Liam Connor who is the leader of the Irish mafia tried to high jack our semi-truck that had just left our docks and was loaded down with all of our products. He is a thorn in my side ever since I shot down his proposition for an alliance. He was wanting me to marry his daughter Cara. My father had been all for it, he advised that I should take Liam up on his offer. But that was right around the time that Bella came into my life. I just couldn’t accept his proposal and I wasn’t going to string him along. Liam wasn’t interested in any joint partnership that didn’t include marriage. Ever since then he has been robbing, killing, and doing anything he can against my family. His son and heir Aiden Connor voiced his opinion at the last meeting we had. He tried to get his father to see reason, stating us as an ally is better than being his enemy. Aiden was against his father’s choice, but in the end, it didn’t matter what he thought. I had hoped that Liam would retire and let his boy run the family.
• After my meeting with dad him and mom left. Bella took Andrey upstairs and all I wanted to do was follow her, and show her just how much she really means to me. But like always I chicken out. I can storm a warehouse full of armed men and have a shootout, I can face down any threat both physical and mental. What I can’t do is tell my wife how much I really do love her. I make my way back to my office and try to catch up on all the paperwork that I have put off the past couple of days. Which is a lot. Not only am I the Don of a crime syndicate I am also the CEO of a Steel Corp. We are a big construction company that is actually global. One of our offices is in every major city in the US. That takes up more time than anything. As I start in on the paperwork Theo comes in. “Hey boss how is Bella and the baby doing?” I smile at the thought of the two of them. “They are doing great. Both of them got to come home today, and are upstairs. Have you got any new information on the damn Irish?
