Chapter 33

  • Bella’s POV
  • Igor opens up the door for us to get out of the vehicle. As soon as my feet hit the pavement, I notice that Marco is already there waiting to escort us in. As we enter the store two women approach us, and introduce themselves. “Hello, and welcome to Lucky Ladies Boutique. My name is Ella, and this is Page. We will be assisting you today with all of your needs.” Ella pauses and holds out her hand to shake mine and Kat’s before she continues. “Now if the two of you wouldn’t mind following me to the sitting area.” Mother joins us as Ella leads us to a beautiful round room, the walls are made of mirrors. Behind one wall is a dressing room, and in the middle is a make shift stage. As we all take a seat on the leather sofas that are lined up in front of the stage. Ella clears her throat which gains our attention. “Now Bella if you don’t mind, I am going to ask a couple of questions that way my assistant can start pulling gowns that you may be interested in. First, what size are you? Second, what type of dress are you wanting, ball gown, sheath, A-line, fit and flare, or sheath.” Ella goes silent so I am taking that as my cue to answer her. “I really have always wanted a ball gown, strapless, silk with a long train.” I am guessing that was going to be some of her other questions so I just went ahead and told her exactly what I liked.
  • Ella is writing down my wants on a little notepad. She stands up abruptly and tells us. “Thank you so much, now if you would excuse us, we will go and pull out every gown that meets your specifications.” I give her a nod and say “thank you” while she is leaving. I look over at mother and the first thing out of my mouth is. “How in the world did you talk Ivan into letting me come shopping with you today?” I couldn’t help it. I was so curious. She laughs at me while telling me. “Honey, you don’t get to my age without knowing how to get what you want. I simply told him that I wasn’t going to dare pick out a wedding dress for you. That a gown was the most important part of a wedding, and even though he might be mad at you now, he wouldn’t want to take this experience from you. I told him to trust me on that, because his father had that to me. Still to this day I hate him for that. Picking out what you wear is monumental. Plus, I heard what happened with your father and I knew you would be under house arrest and could use the time with us. So, I made him think it was a bigger issue then it really is.” I couldn’t help but jump up and hug her. Even though she was his mother she still went out of her way to help me. I cried into her shoulder and she just held me.
