Chapter 49

He's a billionaire. I did not expect that even a simple property would catch his interest. It made me pause for a moment, letting myself feel a rare flicker of respect for the way he could take control of everything around him. Even in silence, even with no words exchanged, his presence and power spoke loudly. - "Oh? Sorry, I forgot." He made a brief chuckle sound. "Just getting used to it," he whispered back and then started walking. I felt my cheeks heat up slightly at his tone. It was casual, almost teasing, but laced with an intimacy that dragged memories I had long buried back to the surface. The kind of memories that made my chest tighten and my stomach coil in ways I hadn’t expected in years.
