  • We ate silently. Until now, I am still trying to process in my head what is happening. The ambiance of the restaurant—soft lighting, the faint clink of silverware, the murmurs of other diners—felt muted, as though the world outside our table no longer existed. Every small movement Agustine made caught my attention, from the way he held his glass to the slight curl of his lips when he was thinking. I felt like my brain was racing, yet also freezing at the same time, struggling to catch up with the unfolding events.
  • "You're still doubting?" he broke the silence.
  • I looked up and met his gaze. For a few seconds, I tried to finished what I was eating before I cleared my throat. The question felt loaded, and my stomach fluttered. Could it really be that simple? Could I really believe him after everything? Or was this another of his games designed to mess with my head?
