Chapter 30
- "We have to go home, Agustine." I don't know how many times I said that, but he just shook his head in response. My voice trembled slightly, betraying my frustration and fear. The weight of the scandal and our situation pressed down on me, and I longed for the safety of routine, of returning to familiar walls, even if it meant facing judgment and pain again.
- "We're on a date, Khrystal," he uttered. The tone was gentle but firm, laced with a playful insistence that made my chest ache. He refused to let me drag us back into stress. I could see the corners of his lips tugging upwards ever so slightly, as if daring me to argue further.
