Chapter 31

• I don't know how I managed to get dressed and dressed so quickly. My system was so consumed with worry and nervousness that it seemed like my body was just doing what it wanted to do. My mind raced, fragmented with fear, panic, and a strange sense of guilt that weighed heavier with every passing second. I am now running in the hallway of the hospital that Mommy said, I do not know what exactly is the reason why Daddy was hospitalized because I did not get to ask that earlier. My footsteps echoed in the sterile corridor, each step faster than the last, as if my urgency could somehow push the world to move faster and bring me to him.
• "Miss, Alexander Dagsinal's room, please?" I asked the nurse at the information desk, trying to steady my voice even though it trembled with desperation. My heart thumped in my ears as the seconds stretched into eternity, every glance at the monitor making me more anxious.
• Frustrated, I wiped my face in a few seconds as the nurse checked the monitor in front of her. Her calm demeanor, so professional and collected, only heightened my own sense of panic. I could feel sweat running down my back, my hair sticking slightly to my neck.
