• We both knew Raina would be the most resistant. But we needed to know if she was the one who had betrayed us. I told Gabe I'd used my powers to overpower Raina when I'd tied her up last time. It was possible Raina had caught on to the fact that I was a witch.
• I had to delve into her thoughts, to sift through the tangled mess that was her mind, and find the truth. I took a deep breath, steeled myself, and bent down to place my hands on either side of her temples.
