Chapter 160
- Gabe’s POV
- I woke up in a cell made up of darkness that felt colder than an arctic winter. The bars of silver around me were coated in a sinister energy, crackling and waiting to be unleashed. I knew if I tried to touch them, the silver would do much more than singe my skin.
- My body ached from the fight and my throat still felt like it was being strangled by tentacles. The memory of Evelina’s screams made my heart clench with guilt. I could have kept fighting. Might even have escaped. But at what cost? He would have used Evelina’s frantic worry against her. And I would never allow myself to be her weakness. Better to let myself be taken.
