• Kirsty’s face broke out into a smug smile as she flipped her phone to face me. I stilled, trepidation prickling up my spine. Her thumb swiped over the screen of her phone and a video of Gabe began to play. He was sitting somewhere, it looked like a penthouse. I’d never seen it before.
• “I’ve amped up the security around this place since you don’t feel safe,” Gabe said conversationally, leaning back on the leather sofa that looked similar to the one in his own penthouse in Barcelona. “You should be fine.” He pointed straight to the camera recording him. “We also have CCTV cameras. The recordings are sent straight to your phone and the head of your security. So now, you can check if anyone has really been in your home while you are out. I think you’re being paranoid,” Gabe ended brusquely. “But better safe than sorry.”
