• There was something wrong with Evelina’s story. She was a terrible liar. Her story about spending time with her tia was fishy. Aside from that, knowing which potion to use almost immediately…spotting the effects of Amaya’s symptoms…
• These were not just things someone picked up from spending time with witches. I’d spent a great deal of time with Amaya and didn’t know half the stuff Evelina knew. The way she effortlessly discerned the subtle nuances of a witch drained of magic sent a shiver of trepidation down my spine.
