Chapter 98
- **Evelina's POV**
- My head was still reeling from what Gabe had hypothesized. All this time, I was carrying the Sacred Flame and didn’t even know it? But how the hell was I supposed to open it? It was locked. Maybe there was a spell? A spell in the book Sister Agnes had given me. That had to be it! But there was no time at all to comb over the book because Gabe wanted to interrogate the dark witch we’d managed to capture.
- Kirsty and Raina were already in the basement of the packhouse. A place I couldn’t help but recall that Gabe’s own mother would lock him in. Revulsion filled me at the thought. Truthfully, I’d wanted to completely heal his scar on his abdomen that was the result of being stabbed repeatedly as a child. But I was also wary of overstepping boundaries. It was presumptuous of me to do something Gabe might not agree too.
