- He’d spouted words about how I’d belonged to him. But maybe that was actually a warning. A warning he’d hoped I’d pass on to Robert…so he knew to keep me happy? How odd that now, from just a few words of his, I was able to realize exactly what his actual intentions were. The man was confusing as hell. He said one thing and did another. And as time went on, I was starting to learn exactly what the intentions were behind his contradictory actions.
- “I don’t know maybe…,” Gabriel finally assented, inclining his head slightly. “If I was assured of your happiness. I installed my men around your university…I’ve had men following you since…” His eyes remained steady on the far-off crashing waves. “I know you were single for a time…” He let out a sigh and shook his head ruefully.
