Chapter 94
- Lucas POV
- Aurora’s lips are soft against mine, trembling with a mix of desperation and surrender, and I can feel the heat radiating off her, the bond’s torment still pulsing through her body. I pull back just enough to look at her, her eyes half-lidded, glistening with unshed tears and something raw, need, maybe, or just exhaustion from fighting this invisible war. The thought of Killian, out there with his new mate, oblivious to the pain he’s inflicting, lights a fire in my gut. He doesn’t get to have her like this, not anymore. She’s here, with me, and I’m going to make damn sure he knows it.
- My hand slides from her chin, tracing down the side of her neck, pausing where that strange, glowing mark sits. It’s a reminder of him, of the claim he still holds, and it makes my blood boil. But it also fuels something else, something possessive, primal, that wants to overwrite his hold on her. I lean in, brushing my lips against her ear, my voice low. “If he’s going to feel you, let’s give him something worth feeling.”
