• I bolt for the door, the sounds of snarling, snapping jaws behind me driving me faster. Bursting into the night, I sprint through the grounds, my legs burning as I race for the gates. My fingers shake as I punch the code into the keypad, the metallic click of it unlocking the sweetest sound I’ve ever heard.
• The gate swings open and I don’t hesitate. I run through it, heart pounding, lungs screaming for air. Behind me, the sounds of wolves fighting to the death shake the night, but I don’t dare look back. I can’t.
