• Killian POV
• I don’t sleep much. I can’t. Aurora lies curled against me, her breathing steady, her warmth seeping into me, and all I can do is stare at the ceiling, my mind turning over every possible plan.
• She’s pregnant, and while I can lie and claim it was a deal gone too far with a human client, the truth gnaws at me. It feels wrong, vile even, to cover her life in another deception. But the reality is worse. If anyone knew what she really was, what she really carried inside her, she’d be slaughtered before I had a chance to draw my sword.
