Chapter 84

  • Aurora POV
  • I’ve been stuck in this room for hours, pacing, sitting, lying down, then pacing again, with no idea what I’m supposed to be doing. Just hiding? For how long? Until when? Killian didn’t give me enough to go on, no timeline, no instructions beyond run, and now I feel like I’ve been left drifting in a space with no edges.
  • Every part of me wants to believe he’ll come back. That he’ll walk through this door and explain everything, that he’ll tell me he’s handled it and we’ll figure out what comes next. But another part of me can’t stop replaying the truth, that he’s standing trial right now, fighting for us, fighting for me. My heart clenches at the thought of what they might do to him if the pack decides to punish him harshly.
