• Maybe I should’ve told her. Maybe I should’ve explained why I was teasing her, why I wouldn’t let her fall over the edge. I thought she understood I was doing it to make her look wrecked for Rosa’s sake, to make it seem like I’d punished her the way her mother wanted. But she didn’t. She honestly thought I’d used her body, taken my pleasure, and left her with nothing.
