Chapter 67 Part 1: Epilogue

  • I used to believe that being an Alpha King simply meant sitting on a throne, leading your people, and making decisions to help the kingdom thrive. But I was wrong. Being an Alpha King means so much more—it demands sacrifice, pain, and countless moments of inner struggle. I used to question my older brother’s decisions, forgetting that he, too, was only human. He might have been a great leader—strong, brave, and wise—but he was also a brother who loved his family deeply.
  • The weight of the crown became clear only when I inherited it. That’s when I truly understood the burdens Alpha Devon bore—especially after Athena came into my life. Having her brings both joy and torment. She became my weakness—physically, emotionally, entirely. Her tears, her pain, her trembling voice—they cut me deeper than any wound. I never wanted to see her hurt, yet somehow, I end up being the cause of her suffering.
  • "Do you think this is a good idea?" I asked Delta Robin as we stood overlooking the vast stretch of my territory. Athena had tried to run away. It infuriated me, but I couldn’t bring myself to fully blame her. Deep down, I understood her pain… even if I hated it.
