• My cheeks burned with embarrassment from what had just happened. I couldn't believe Damon actually responded with, “I would love to”! How dare he! I’d rather kick his ass than let him sleep with me! This whole situation is absurd!
• Feeling frustrated, I grabbed a glass of wine from a passing waiter and downed it in one go. “Luna! Be careful!” Anna’s voice followed me. Her calling me “Luna” was grating on my nerves. The palace was bustling with the after-party, and the hall was packed.
