Chapter 23 Chap Twenty-two

• There are times I think I know Damon, but other times I’m utterly lost. Today was one of those times—moments ago, he seemed furious, as though he was on the brink of cursing me for leaving without his permission.
• But now, his touch is gentle and full of care. His hand glides over my skin, leaving tingling warmth in its path, and his kisses make me lose my breath. I can barely remember why we were even arguing; all I know is that I’m lying beneath him, breathless, as his lips travel down my belly.
