• I felt restless as I waited for Britney to return. My gaze drifted aimlessly while my thoughts swirled in confusion. Perhaps I was just imagining things. Why would Damon call her? She’s just a professor; there's no way she’d have any influence over the alpha.
• “Luna?” I blinked twice, startled by Britney’s sudden appearance. I straightened up and looked at her. “Are you done with your call?” I asked. She smiled sweetly.
• “Yes, Luna. Shall we continue?” she asked brightly. I nodded, trying to focus on her explanations, though my thoughts kept wandering.
