Chapter 14 Chap Thirteen

• I couldn’t believe my eyes as I watched two wolves locked in a deadly fight before me. The black-furred wolf launched itself at the brown wolf with terrifying force, clamping its powerful jaws around its opponent’s neck.
• It felt like a nightmare, one I couldn’t escape. These two wolves seemed ready to tear each other apart, and yet, I couldn’t tear my gaze from the black wolf. In an instant, I saw it defeat the brown wolf that had attacked me. My throat tightened as I stared, my eyes drawn to the blood staining its fangs.
• Then, the black wolf turned toward me. I was frozen, my hands trembling, feeling as though my breath might abandon me. The wolf approached slowly, and I remained frozen, too afraid to move. When he was close enough, his eyes locked onto mine, an intense stare that unsettled me. A strange sensation twisted in my stomach, one I only ever felt around Damon. And then, in terror, I realized who the black wolf was.
