Chapter 37 Chap Thirty-six

• The entire palace had grown noticeably busier with the frantic search for Jules, who was still nowhere to be found. Damon, too, was increasingly preoccupied, instructing the palace guards to remain vigilant and secure the surroundings. Each village was also placed on high alert due to the imminent threat Jules posed.
• Britney’s visits to the palace were temporarily halted as a security measure, with Damon monitoring everyone who entered or exited the palace. Now, only guards, elders, council members, and others on duty remained inside.
• I stayed in the library, attempting to distract myself with a pile of books Anna had brought over. Anna and a guard kept me company, with the guard stationed by the door, standing so still he seemed more like a fixture than a person. I glanced at Anna, deeply absorbed in her own book, before returning my attention to the volume in front of me. As I tried to focus, my mind drifted back to recent events.
