Chapter 12 Chap Eleven

• That night, I couldn’t sleep at all, especially with Damon lying just behind me. The only barrier between us was the pillow I had placed. Though the lights were off, my mind was in turmoil. He had mentioned that our mate bond was strong. Did that mean it prevented him from being attracted to anyone else?
• Morning came, and as usual, Damon was up early. I didn’t see him when I woke. Anna helped me with my morning routine, and then I headed to the dining room dressed in a long-sleeve dress. My heart raced when I saw Damon sitting quietly, sipping his coffee in his usual spot.
• He must have sensed my presence because our eyes met, but I quickly looked away, unable to hold his gaze. I sat down beside him in silence as the servants began serving our meal. I couldn’t help but steal glances at Damon, but he nearly caught me every time.
