Chapter 16 Chap Fifteen

• I quickly looked away, my heart racing uncontrollably. I wasn’t sure why, but his gaze made my heart pound fiercely.
• “Do you want to leave now?” he broke the silence in my mind. I looked at my mother as she returned to her little house. I suppose...this was enough. Knowing she was safe and well, I could breathe more easily.
• “Yes…” I agreed softly. Damon lowered his back to help me mount, and as I climbed up, I found myself flustered by even his smallest gestures.
