Chapter 4 Chap Three

  • “Whether you like it or not, you’re staying here. Don’t test my patience—I can’t stand stubborn women.”
  • I can’t believe this is happening! I’m actually being kidnapped by someone! The more I think about the man who introduced himself as Damon, the more terrified I become. His words were final, like he really intended to keep me here.
  • The thought of being trapped here for the rest of my life ignites a burning anger towards him. Then, I recall the bulky man who spoke to my mom earlier.
  • “We understand, Miss Madrigal, but he’s losing patience. He’s already given you months—no, he’s given you 18 years to be with her. Now that she’s of age, she must face what’s destined for her.” His words echo in my mind. Was he talking about Damon? Does my mom know this man named Damon?
  • Is he the one who’s been watching me from afar? The presence I’ve always felt? What does he want? Why? I’m so confused. I need answers, but how can I find them when I’m chained up in this room?
  • Time slipped away until the door opened again, flooding the room with light. A man entered, and my eyes widened in recognition—it’s the bulky man who came to our house to talk to my mother!
  • “I-I know you!” I stammered, both shocked and confused. He placed a tray of food in front of me, and I clenched my teeth.
  • “Tell me…who are you? Why am I here? What do you want from me?” I demanded, my voice tight with frustration. If I could just escape these chains, I’d fight them all! How dare they do this to me?!
  • “I’m not supposed to speak with you, Miss Madrigal,” he replied flatly.
  • “Then call your master! Damon, right? Let me talk to him!” I screamed, my throat aching.
  • “He’s busy. He’ll see you later,” he said, his tone robotic. I laughed bitterly. How can they all act so normal while I’m here, scared and desperate because of what they’re doing to me?
  • “Then…please…tell me why you were at my house this morning. What did you talk about with my mom?” I pleaded. I need answers. This confusion is tearing me apart, and I don’t understand anything. It’s driving me mad.
  • “I was there to warn her,” he said curtly.
  • “About what?!” I couldn’t help but raise my voice, anticipation clawing at me.
  • “I warned her that her time with you is over. This is your fate, Miss Madrigal. Alpha Damon has been waiting for you since the day you were born, and your mother took you away from him without his consent.”
  • “What?” I can’t believe this! He’s insane! My mother took me away from him? Of course, she did—I’m her daughter, and Damon doesn’t own me! Damn it!
  • “Believe it or not, it was the other way around. You were kidnapped. Alpha Damon is just bringing you back to where you belong,” he said before leaving the room. I stared blankly after him, my mind reeling.
  • My own mother kidnapped me? Is this some kind of sick joke? Or am I losing my mind? What the hell? My mom had every right to do what she did—I’m her daughter! But the thought that Damon thinks I’m his property from birth, and my mom is the villain for taking me away…
  • Is he out of his mind?
  • This is driving me insane! My head aches from all the thinking. Exhausted, I drifted into a deep sleep, only to wake with the unsettling feeling that someone was watching me. I opened my eyes to meet a cold pair of brown eyes. My teeth clenched as our gazes locked. I hate him for doing this to me!
  • I hate him!
  • “Did you sleep well?” he asked in a flat tone. I clenched my jaw. How dare he ask that? Is he completely deranged? If I weren’t chained up, I’d run at him and hit him until he couldn’t stand!
  • “Are you a psycho? Who in their right mind would ask such a question? Of course, it wasn’t comfortable!” I snapped. His forehead creased, which only irritated me more. How can he sit there so comfortably while I’m chained up in front of him? He’s heartless!
  • “You didn’t touch your food,” he remarked, glancing at the uneaten tray.
  • “I’d rather starve than eat while I’m chained like this!” I spat. My heart raced when he stood up and approached me. He squatted down, picking up the spoon.
  • “You need to eat,” he commanded, his tone brooking no argument.
  • “I said I won’t eat!” I stubbornly refused. I could see him clench his jaw—had I pushed him too far?
  • “Eat,” he ordered again, lifting the spoon to me. I gritted my teeth. Why is he doing this? What does he want from me? Why is he treating me like I’m his property? Why did he take me away from my mom?
  • “Why am I here? Why did you kidnap me? What do you want from me? Who are you, Damon?” I demanded, staring him down with all the determination I could muster. “I’ll eat if you answer my questions,” I challenged.
  • He sighed heavily, setting down the spoon. His eyes met mine, and my heart reacted to the intensity in his brown gaze. Something ignited within me. What is this feeling? I’ve never felt anything like it.
  • “Fine. I’ll tell you. But after this, you’ll stop being stubborn, Athena. If you don’t…I won’t hesitate to punish you,” his voice was cold as steel. He remained squatting in front of me, his eyes locked on mine. This heat rushing through my body…what is he doing to me?
  • “You’re in the Kingdom of Agama, and I rule this place. I am Alpha Damon Timothy Scot,” he began. My lips parted in shock. He’s barely started talking, and already my mind feels like it’s about to explode. Alpha? Kingdom?
  • “This isn’t a human kingdom as you know it. I am a werewolf. Everyone here is a werewolf. And I am their Alpha King,” he explained, touching my chin. I swallowed hard, my body reacting to the warmth of his touch. What is he saying? Alpha king? Werewolves? Is this some kind of twisted joke?
  • There’s no way humans that turn into wolves exist!
  • “I am an Alpha King…and you are mated to me, Athena.”
