Chapter 94 Tarzan (Two)
- I’m about to turn away when the woman glances around, as though looking for someone, and I hear myself gasp out aloud. It’s her! Jessica, right there in front of me, as real as anything. She sees me at the same time that I see her, or maybe a second earlier, and I watch as all the color drains from her face and her mouth forms an ‘O’ of surprise.
- I immediately begin to stride toward her, my gaze not leaving hers for even a second, until I’m standing in front of her. The look on her oh-so-pretty face is a mix of anger, defiance, and weirdly, a little fear, although that is quite ridiculous. My heart is beating fast, and although I’ve had all this time to think of what to say to her when next I see her, my head is blank now that she’s actually in front of me. We stare at each other quietly for a few moments, which actually feel like a hundred years, the noise, hustle, and bustle of the airport fading away into nothingness.
- “Jessica,” I say at last, wincing at the accusing way the word had come out of my mouth.
