Chapter 75 No Iota Of Truth (Two)

• The conversation seems to be getting intense, because after taking one flustered look at me, Bianca turns off the cooker and heads outside where she can have her conversation in private, so I head back to my living room and wait tensely for her return. No doubt, Jessica isn’t buying her story of stolen phones and whatnot, as I’m sure no sane person would.
• A lot of things are running through my mind. Did Jessica and her friend plan this together? But for what purpose and to what end? No, it doesn’t seem likely. Besides, Jessica did not even seem to recognize my voice, but then, I had only muttered one strangled ‘hello’ into the phone, so no surprise there.
• It feels surreal to think that after all this while, I had finally heard from Jessica, but had been too chicken to even talk properly to her like an adult. But no, I can’t talk to her until I get to the root of this. Even if she wants nothing to do with me, I’m not sure that she’ll fancy the thought of me having sex with and knocking up her friend, even though I didn’t know at the time that Bianca is her friend.
