Chapter 86 More Nightmares (Two)

• “God, please. I don’t want to lose my baby.” I pray silently, willing the bleeding and cramping to stop, but nothing stops.
• Finally, Jeff arrives. It’s only been fifteen minutes since I called him, but it feels like an eternity has passed. Before long, we’re on our way to the hospital, where my doctor, who is luckily on call this morning, examines me. His grim expression does nothing to ease my panic.
• “What’s wrong, doctor? Did I lose my baby?” I ask fearfully tears streaming down my cheeks. The tears haven’t stopped flowing ever since I woke up and saw that I was having a miscarriage.
