Chapter 19 Despair (Two)

• “I’m not in any relationship at the moment.” He tells me, turning over the spits of crabs that he was roasting over the fire that he had built. For the umpteenth time, I silently send a prayer of thanks above that I had gotten stranded with someone like him. He’s a natural at this sort of thing.
• “Where did you learn to do all this stuff anyway?” I ask him, sensing that he wasn’t comfortable with the relationship questions.
• “I watch survival documentaries a lot. All I’m doing is just trial and error, but at the risk of annoying you, I have to admit that I've done well so far. Unfortunately, though, I didn’t pay attention to the aspect of fishing. I would do anything for some steak or well-prepared fish right now.” He says ruefully, scratching at his growing beard.
