Chapter 81

• Don Dante continued to pace around his chamber. He was reflecting on everything that Lena told him about the organization she found out about. He felt as though the problem at hand was directly related to him; he was attempting to identify inside himself the person who would defiantly defy his commands.
• His mouth quivered as he looked out the window. “A butterfly sign—” he mumbled beneath his breath. "Who would utilize that antiquated method of symbolism instead of a simple signature?" he mocked. "Whoever it is is attempting to act cunningly."
• As the doorbell rang, he turned to face it. “Who's that?” His tone sounded raspy. He wasn't expecting anyone, and he needed some privacy to fish out a few things by himself. He said, "Come in!" as the person at the door had made no attempt to speak.
