• Fifteen hours had elapsed after Lena was brought out of the cell. After finishing her morning duties, she placed Don's breakfast on the table and waited for him to wake up so he could eat it before it got cold.
• Looking at his face, he would admit that he was so charming. “It makes sense that, despite how aloof you appear to be, they are all following you around. You are the devil in disguise, in my opinion, and I hope you stay that way.” She snorted and moved toward the bed.
• He peered at her when she tapped him. “Breakfast is ready. I will be back after I see the corpse.”
