• Don Dante pulled Lena into his room by the collar and shoved her to the bed as soon as he took on his human form. With her heart on the verge of escaping her throat, Lena recoiled backward.
• She could not decide whether to hate that she was saved by him or to be grateful for it.
• After observing her closely for some time, he moved to the corner of the room next to the closet and took out a thick, clumsy rope, which he then flung upon the bed.
