Chapter 11

  • Lena approached the grave where the morgue attendant had been burned after the group of guys left the forest. "You lost your life defending my father. I hope your soul will rest in peace and you will meet him in the afterlife.'' She knelt and scooped up a handful of sand, softly pouring it onto the grave.
  • Knowing that the funeral must be drawing to a conclusion, she turned instantly to depart. "What else would I do now that he has killed him and I can not locate the truth?" she asked, shaking her head. She said, taking short strolls, "Just keep being his slave and do not goof up or I will finish up dead."
  • She feels like a traitor to her family every time she remembers that there is nothing she can do to undo her father's death. "If I do not take revenge, my father might not be able to rest in peace, but what can I do in the absence of evidence? How do I find out if he is innocent of this crime and inform the entire Pack?"
