• "It was not her fault!" The Beta moved closer to Alpha, who was pacing his room. "I noticed the Mistress spilling the food, and I presumed she was envious since she spent the night in your chamber," he said, anticipating an answer.
• Even more than he despises Elena, he detests the Mistress's constant nagging of Lena for carrying out her duties on the Alpha. For goddess sake, they are mates, and that's the main reason for Lena not to be separated from the Don.
• Turning, Alpha looked at his Beta. "You must be developing feelings for her, otherwise you will be unconcerned about whether she is alive or not," he chuckled and looked at the clock. "Get rid of that sensation quickly since the clock is ticking away."
