• After two days, the Beta returned with a map that, upon reading, would direct them to the traffickers' location. He set it in front of Don and Lena. "I am not good at reading maps," he said to them.
• Don gave him a fierce look. "And I appear to be a geography student? Or perhaps an engineer, huh?" he growled, turning away. "Why did you bring it here if you are unable to read it? Take it away.”
• “I can read it—” Lena cleared her throat. She was not in the mood to discuss, but in order to fulfill her promise to them, she had to give up one of her skills, even if it meant giving up the only thing that might save them. "I learned to read a map from my father."
