Chapter 101
- The chopsticks hovered in front of my mouth. I sighed and bit into it. It did not taste any different from any other sour radish I had ever had. I swallowed it hard and refused the second piece.
- My refusal was clearly interpreted as another expression of my bad temper. Edward was upset but repressed his anger, perhaps reminding himself this was a "special day."
- The other dishes arrived: chili-cooked beef, boiled fish, and spicy shrimp—my old favorites. I took up my chopsticks and started eating ravenously.
