• Ariel's mouth was still hanging open as she listened to what Xavier was saying, he knew?! But how?! Xavier saw her reaction and thought of explaining to her how he found out. So he started explaining, "I found it hard to believe that you could actually do such a thing because even if we don't spend much time with each other, I know you wouldn't be able to do such a thing and that's why I decided to find out the truth myself hence why I told the both of you to leave my office" Xavier ended and waited to see if she was understanding what he was saying, when she nodded in understanding, he continued,"And then that was when I told Hector to send the CCTV footage from this morning" The last sentence he said made Ariel open her mouth in disbelief, she looked up immediately and surveyed the area but she couldn't see a single CCTV camera there, was he lying to her? Xavier almost smiled at her reaction, of course she would try to see if she could find the CCTV camera there but she couldn't, it was a pinhole camera that nobody would be able to notice. And it was up in his light bulb, no one would even think that far. He decided to have a CCTV camera installed in his office when a few of his things got missing last year, he called all his employees that day and asked them if they did it, he even threatened to fire all of them if they don't produce the culprit but nobody came out to take the blame so he had it installed without any body being aware of it except Hector, who knew it could be effective in a time like this. "It's actually a pinhole camera so you won't be able to see it even if you tried" Xavier told Amber when he saw her trying to search for it, Amber looked at him in disbelief, he was so smart she was so impressed. When he got her attention again, he continued,"So I told Hector to send me the video footage, here" he said pushing the laptop towards her, Amber walked close to it, a video was already playing, she squinted her eyes to see it clearly, the video revealed Charlotte coming into the office, while checking if anyone was inside, the moment she confirmed nobody was there, that was when she walked directly towards Xavier's desk and moved closer to his drawer, it was as if she already planned this so perfectly and was just waiting for the perfect time to strike. Amber watched as Charlotte held the file in her hands while smirking to herself, without a second thought, Charlotte walked directly to her seat and dropped the file in her drawer, Amber watched as Charlotte got hasty as though someone was coming, she just stood up immediately to not get caught, and after a few seconds Amber showed up and that's where Xavier stopped the video. Amber remembered when she caught Charlotte in the office early in the morning, no wonder she was restless then, she had just finished committing the crime. Amber was also astonished, Charlotte indeed went too far just to make sure she was out of Damien's life, seriously? Was she that insecure? Amber looked at Damien in appreciation,"Thanks for believing in me Sir, I'm so grateful" Amber said truthfully, the fact that Xavier went as far as digging up the CCTV footage from that morning spoke volumes, he truly believed in her. This act of his made Amber all the more attracted to him, she started seeing him in a new light.
• "You don't have to thank me for this, you should know I hate betrayers but I don't tolerate liars either" Xavier said to her and she nodded in understanding. Deep down she wanted to know what he will do to Charlotte now that he knows the truth, will he caution her? Amber couldn't wait to see the look on Charlotte's face when Xavier raises his voice at her. Xavier's voice cut through her thoughts,"Now that I remember, you two tends to get on each other's nerves most of the time, I mean why would she want to put you in harm's way?" Xavier asked, he was genuinely confused why Charlotte would want to do this especially to a girl she barely knew. It was insane. Amber almost scoffed when she heard his question, she knew the reason all too well. She decided to tell Xavier the truth, maybe if it was before this incident she would have probably kept her lips shut but after this incident she really doesn't care if Xavier's marriage with Charlotte ended or not. The brat doesn't deserve a man like Xavier anyway. "You know what I think sir? She's just jealous" Amber said bluntly making Xavier raise his brow at her in confusion as he asked,"Of?"
• Amber replied again,"Me of course" her mouth had no filter this time around, she was going to say whatever she wanted. "She's clearly jealous that I spend the most time with you, she's obviously jealous that I am more pretty than her even when I don't dull my face up like a clown and she's insecure as f** that one day you might end up falling for me and that's why she's trying to do everything she could to get me out of the office and away from you" Amber ended, Xavier stared at her in amusement, he liked seeing her this way, just being herself. Xavier cleared his throat when he realized she had stopped talking,"But we aren't doing anything wrong, are we? Not as if we are in a relationship or anything because if we were in an actual relationship the case would have been different". "Exactly, she doesn't care about that, she just wants me away from you, she even went as far as pinning the blame on me, if you hadn't searched through, maybe I would have kissed this job goodbye".
