Chapter 58
- Charlotte instantly understood what she was talking about, she looked around to see if there were any listening ears before facing Amber and smirked,"Glad you got brains at least, yes, I was the one who stole the file and kept it in your drawer, I planned everything but nobody's gonna know about that" Amber knew it, She knew Charlotte was indeed behind this but she just wanted her to confirm it with her own lips. When Amber didn't respond, Charlotte figured she might still be shocked for learning the truth, she didn't want to waste her precious time with her,"You know what? If I were you Amber, I'll take my bag and just use the exit door behind you never to return again to save yourself from the upcoming embarrassment you'll receive once Xavier tells you that you are fired. "Ta ta" Charlotte said to Amber while laughing at her, she then walked towards the door leaving the company. Amber turned and stared at her retreating back smirking to herself, holding up her phone and pressing pause on the recorder that has been on the whole while Charlotte and get were talking, saving the voice clip she looked at the direction Charlotte left and said,"We'll see who gets to leave the company now".
- Amber turned towards Xavier's office, Charlotte brought this war upon herself anyway now she was going to show her that even if she had no money or class like her, she can't be bullied by anyone. Amber stopped in front of Xavier's office and stretched her hand to knock but the office door already opened from inside before she could knock, the door opened revealing Xavier. Apparently he was about leaving the office unaware that Amber was outside, Amber saw her hands was still stuck mid air so she brought it down. Now she was face to face with him, she didn't know how she was going to explain things with him. Xavier raised his brow at her in question, She cleared her throat and started speaking,"Uhm excuse me sir, I have something to show you if you don't mind" Xavier didn't say anything else, he just opened the door and let her in with him moving back to his seat. He sat comfortably on his seat waiting for Amber's response.
- Amber stood in front of him keeping a small distance between her and his desk before she started talking,"Sir I have proof that whatever Miss Charlotte accused me of is completely false" Xavier looked at her in confusion, the proof was already laid out that she was the one, he wondered what more proof did she have to defend herself, he wanted to believe she wasn't at fault in the whole thing so he told her to continue. Amber nodded after receiving the 'Go' signal from him, she then proceeded to bring out her phone, the recorded file was still displaying on her screen when she turned on her phone, Xavier looked at her wondering what she was doing, when she Pressed Play on her phone and immediately Charlotte's voice rang out from their earlier conversations.
