Chapter 54
- Jake looked at her to see she was smitten by his looks, Sophia finally regained her demeanor and cleared her throat,"I'm extremely sorry sir, he's a toxic ex who won't let me go except I show him proof that I have moved on, that's why I kissed you but I had no idea he would pounce on you. Jake nodded his head understanding her situation,"It's okay, I hope he won't come back though, by the looks of it, he still likes you". Sophia scoffed,"He doesn't like me, probably just want to use me as a punching bag again" She instantly went silent when she realized she might have said too much. An uncomfortable silence enveloped them, Jake didn't need to hear that last part, Jake cleared his throat breaking the silence,"I am Jake Elrod and you are?" Sophia smiled,"I am Sophia Anderson, nice to meet you sir and thank you again". Jake nodded,"You are welcome, oh and for the record, you are a great kisser" he winked at her as he left that place. Sophia blushed at his words.

- Recalling their first encounter, Sophia remembered he wasn't that bad from the first until four years later, she applied to work in his company, she was glad to see him again and even thought they would hit it from there once he remembered who she was but she was wrong because he never spared her a glance and the worst part, he was extremely rude to her and acted like she didn't exist most of the time, she didn't know where she went wrong or anything she must have done in the past to make him angry at her, his attitude towards her worseded as the day goes by and she made a decision not to let him walk all over her again. She didn't know what went wrong but she wouldn't sit still and let him be rude to her, hence why they are always at each other throat in work and the most surprising part was he never threatened to fire her, he just let her be. So she hated him for his attitude towards her but still can't help herself from falling for him again. She didn't know what she was going to do now.
