Chapter 35

  • Before she could say anything more, Xavier was already approaching her. She couldn't even think straight, does he have any idea that he was shirtless at this particular moment? Xavier stopped before her and leaned in close, Amber could feel her breath cut short as his face drew closer to hers, she could also feel his body heat radiating off him, just as she thought he was leaning in for a kiss and getting ready to refuse him. He stood up fully, she raised her brow in confusion. "Found it," Xavier said, holding his phone. Oh. Amber then realized his phone was right behind her. He was only reaching out for his phone and not for a kiss, she mentally facepalmed herself. Good thing she didn't close her eyes, that would have been awkward.
  • Amber noticed Xavier still didn't move an inch away from her, she looked up to find him staring at her as if memorizing every detail on her face. He trailed his eyes from her brows to her slender nose to her Cupid bow shaped lips, Amber felt her lips run dry so she licked it, his eyes followed her every movement. He suddenly felt hot all of a sudden, he backed away from her suddenly so he won't do anything that he would likely regret after. Amber cleared her throat at the sudden awkwardness, she directed her eyes towards the window, the rain had stopped finally and it was just tiny showers falling. She sighed in relief, she seriously couldn't stay here any longer, it was getting really late and she also could not stand the presence of Xavier.
  • "The rain has finally stopped, sir," Amber informed Xavier. He looked a little distracted. He shook his head when he heard Amber's voice. "I can drive you back home, I'll get ready first" he entered his closet immediately. Amber couldn't help but wonder why he was staring at her. Few minutes later, he got out. "Let's go" he said as he led the way to his car, when they were seated, he revved the engine and zoomed off. The time was 6:30 pm so it wasn't really late to be driving on the road. Silence enveloped them as he headed for their destination. Amber noticed he was lost in his thoughts so she used the time to check him out, he had a hoodie on, he looked handsome in the simple outfit, a sweatpants and large hoodie, not like the overbearing CEO but like the normal plain guy next door who was every girl's crush. Amber tries not to smile at the thought. How nice would it have been if he was a simple guy, maybe she would have told him about the truth of their kids but no, he had to be a rich a** billionaire, and she knew what the rich could do to get what they want. Considering his mother's attitude, she was the kind of person who could file an arrest against her for kidnapping, she didn't want her kids to suffer. She wiped those thoughts away from her head, there was no way she would ever tell him about the kids anyway, he was better off not knowing. After all, it seems his family is planning to marry him off to someone else so for her kid's safety, she prefers to stay silent.
