Chapter 45

• "I apologize for my friends behavior, he tends to behave like an a$$ sometimes, Amber almost scoffed, no joke there. She shook her head,"No need to apologize sir, it was nothing really". Xavier nodded and went back to his work. As if one impulse, Amber suddenly remembered what Breanna had told her about Jake, she was forced to ask Xavier. "Sir" Xavier turned to face her when he heard her voice, Amber was already talking when he looked up to face her,"Why is your friend like that anyways?" Xavier raised his brow at her question not quite sure what she meant, she told him earlier that she wasn't offended with Jake's attitude towards her but by the look on her face, he could tell she was beyond pissed. "How do you mean Miss Parks?" Amber tried to bite her tongue to avoid the next words threatening to spill from her lips but it's all she's been thinking about anyway since she left Breanna so she couldn't hold it in. And so she asked him,"Why is he a womanizer? I mean why does he have to flirt with any lady he sees? Without even knowing the repercussions of his actions or anything?" Amber blurted out, she was pretty sure if Jake was here, she would say the same thing to him.
• Xavier was still confused by how Amber was reacting, he figured it was more than just what Jake said to her earlier. "First you have to calm down Miss Parks? Do you know him from somewhere? How do you know he was a womanizer?" He knew Jake was a womanizer and party animal but how does Amber know about it? Something didn't seem right. Amber almost rolled her eyes, she would never wish to be close to such a person,"I personally don't know him from anywhere though but I've heard one or two talk about him and they are always the same line, him being a womanizer". Amber said. Xavier nodded his head in understanding, Jake was quite popular around town so he believed that, but sometimes false rumours can be spread too. "What are the things you heard about him?" Xavier said focusing his attention on Amber. Amber suddenly regretted talking too much about it, but she couldn't stop talking now when she just grabbed his attention so she continued,"I heard stories about him sleeping around with women in clubs, and the rest, he even dumped girls like flies, I won't like to even associate with a guy like that". Xavier almost laughed, his friend sure wasn't liked by all women, this was a first.
• "So if I were you sir, I'll be a good friend and tell him to quit his ways, thank you". Amber went back to typing on her keyboard, Xavier was amused by how she was acting rather than getting annoyed. "Okay I'll do that" Xavier said playfully and Amber almost smiled. Xavier changed the subject quickly,"So what's up with you? I hope your bruise is okay now? I meant the one that Charlotte gave you". Amber clenched her fists on the table when she heard Charlotte's name. She hated her more and more everyday. Amber wanted to put on a fake smile and say that she was okay but she thought against it, she won't try to defend Charlotte ever, especially after what she did, and she honestly didn't care if their relationship wreck either, Charlotte would never be a good fit for Xavier anyway.
