Panic had coursed through her body at that moment. She absolutely couldn’t afford to miss Douglas presentation.
She had already gotten a bad feeling the moment Natalia had asked her if she had anywhere to go to and she had even asked her twice and upon Natalia asking her to accompany her home, panic finally settled in. She tried to come up all kinds of excuses but Natalia picked all of the excuses and threw them in the bin. Not even a single one had an effect.
Mona began to regret even lying about not going anywhere in the first place, she could have easily lied that she had something to do in the library and take a detour back to the hall or even any other lie but she had already said she had nowhere to go. If not for the fact that she wanted to keep her crush on Douglas a secret from Natalia; telling her the truth wouldn’t be much of a big deal.
