Chapter 57

• Natalia dropped her phone quietly as she looked around while swallowing her saliva. To think she had thought that Corey was perfectly fine to have left for the office before five am in the morning. She had long forgotten that no matter what after the girl she had gotten married, Corey was always there whenever she woke up. But now, he knew she had taken hacking courses. Natalia chewed painfully on her lips yet she didn’t feel any pain even when her lips became bloody.
• Different thoughts about what Corey must have been thinking about ran through her head. But even before then, to know what Corey was thinking had always been hard and even now that she was in trouble, she didn’t dare to make guesses on what he was thinking. She quickly opened her laptop and tried to hack into the Armante main headquarters CCTV cameras but to her shock, the firewalls had been replaced and these ones were much scarier that despite Natalia’s high skills after almost an hour, she hadn’t even broken through the first defence.
• Natalia could feel water pooling in her eyes, if Corey asked her to divorce him, the thought made Natalia choke inexplicably. She shook her head trying to throw such thoughts out of her head. Things wouldn’t get that bad, she tried to comfort herself but it wasn’t working. Natalia’s mind flashed back to the day Corey had asked her randomly if she had learnt a tech or digital skill before now and she had lied and told him no and even when Corey had offered to register her for a few she had refused and told him she didn’t really have time. Meanwhile the main reason why she had rejected Corey was because she had certificates in at least fourteen tech courses aside from coding and hacking.
