Chapter 3

  • Getting assigned to the VIP section of the club might have been the best thing to happen to Natalia since the new semester had started. At least, she now had extra pay and could conveniently cater for her needs without having to worry.
  • A day’s pay at the VVIP section was almost her whole pay for the month while working at the regular section. That enough was enough to tell her how special and different the VIP section was. She had been mortified when two days ago, the manger had set for her and told her she would be resuming duties at the VIP section of the club, the VVIP!!! Not even the VIP section.
  • She had no idea of why or when she had been upgraded but she had jumped on the offer with open hands. It was something she had prayed for, so of course she had accepted the offer with open and wide hands.
  • Resuming her first day with a new set of uniform that made Natalia realize that there was much to be done. It was even harder to satisfy these people who had the world in their palms. Faces she had only seen on TV and in magazines, Natalia got to see them face to face in the club. Ministers, Governors and even celebrities frequented the club much to her shock and surprise and by the end of her first night, Natalia only had a word for the VVIP section.
  • Crazy!
  • But the pay? It was worth it. It was definitely worth it. Natalia had no events planned for her second day as the night started quietly like the first night with multi coloured lights illuminating the rooms and making it slightly hard to identify people unless you moved closer to them.
  • “There are some men at the end of this row, go and check up on them. you can ask to refill their drinks or ask them for whatever they might need” her new supervisor said and Natalia nodded as she wore a small smile.
  • “Okay” she replied as she grabbed the notepad on the counter.
  • “Natalia” the supervisor called as Natalia turned to her.
  • “Be extra careful” she added as Natalia blinked her eyes once and nodded her head.
  • “Certainly” she replied as she started walking briskly towards the end of the large room.
  • There were indeed some men seated at the far end of the room isolated from other people, seeing the way everyone distanced themselves from them and the reminder from her supervisor, Natalia knew that these were super important figures.
  • She walked towards the table interrupting their conversation quietly while wearing a smile.
  • “Hello, what would you like to have? Or rather would you like your glasses refilled?” she asked as the men who were conversing with loud voices went quiet as they all turned to her.
  • Even as a student, Natalia had seen her own share of handsome, sexy guys but these ones that were sitting right in front of her; she didn’t know how to describe them but she was sure that God had taken his time in creating each of them.
  • The first man was dressed in a casual dress but he looked nothing short of attractive with his hair pulled backwards, the second guy was also dressed in a casual outfit and as well as the third but the third guy whose eyes barely stayed on her before he moved was the only different one. She could easily make out the well-tailored suit he was wearing and how attractive he looked.
  • For some reason, they all felt very familiar but she couldn’t pinpoint where she had seen them or met them before.
  • “Are you new here?” the second guy asked as Natalia pursed her lips wondering why he was asking.
  • “No. I’ve been here for about two months I think” she replied as she wore a bigger smile.
  • “Why? You’ve not seen me before?” she asked as she heard the one in the suit chuckle quietly.
  • The second guy stared at her for a second before nodding his head.
  • “Yes, you are right, I’m a regular here and I’ve never seen you before” he replied as Natalia nodded, still retaining her smile.
  • “That’s a given. I’m mostly downstairs so you shouldn’t have seen me before. it’s my second day in the VIP floor” she said as her eyes strayed to the guy in suit again. She watched him grab his wine cup while taking another sip of his drink.
  • “How has it been?” the third guy asked as Natalia sighed as she rubbed her forehead.
  • “Exhausting. It’s hard to satisfy rich people” she replied as she shrugged. She had no idea in the world why she was even answering their questions in the first place.
  • “This is one of the most popular clubs in this country so I was expecting people from all walks of life but not this” She added as she glanced at the guy in suit again. His face was becoming familiar and familiar every second that her eyes returned to him but Natalia was yet to remember who he was. For someone with a brain like hers, she almost never forgot someone once she had seen them. Why on earth did she find the four men familiar yet she couldn’t remember where she had seen them?
  • “So you like it?” the first guy asked as Natalia nodded again.
  • “I don’t have to like it. The pay pays my tuition fees and my rent so it’s all good” she replied.
  • “Tuition fees? Are you still a student?” the first guy who had asked her q question asked again and Natalia cocked an eyebrow at him; the urge to make a joke overwhelming her for a moment.
  • “Are you hitting on me right now?” she asked as the table went silent for a while before the second and third guy burst into laughter. Their laughter was so infectious that Natalia realized that she couldn’t stop the smile spreading across her lips.
  • “Hitting on you?” the third guy asked, laughing as Natalia nodded while still smiling.
  • “Or you think I’m not pretty enough?” she asked as the guy shook his head. More than anyone, Natalia knew herself the most; the strengths and weaknesses and one of her greatest weaknesses and strengths was her face. She knew that way too well.
  • “You are really pretty” the third guy replied as the first guy shook his head.
  • “I’m not hitting on you” he replied and Natalia folded her arms.
  • “Why not? You have a girlfriend?” she asked as the first guy chuckled while shaking his head again.
  • “No I don’t” he replied as Natalia nodded her head. She had just wanted to make trouble. It was more than obvious that they were all single.
  • “I know. Single guys like you guys are the ones who have the luxury of coming to clubs at this time of the day” she said as she shook her head.
  • “Else, your girlfriend would have dragged you to some date with candles or to the cinema to watch some kind of romance movie” she added as she watched the men burst into laughter. Her ego was even boosted when she saw the guy in suit wearing a small smile on his lips. She had no idea why or when or even how she got comfortable with these strangers after spending less than thirty minutes with them.
