Chapter 52

Corey placed his phone beside his computer as he started looking through some of the files on the table. His computer beeps quietly as a new email entered but he didn’t bother opening the email as he continued working on his computer. There were the things he should have attended to as soon as he came back from work but with John and the rest coming immediately after him, he couldn’t leave them in the seating room and go off to work so he definitely had to do the work before he slept.
It wasn’t much of a hassle and that was why in the first place, he wasn’t really bothered since he knew he could always do it either in the car while going to work or before he slept at whatever time the other men left.
Thinking about what had happened in the past month, Corey really didn’t have an explanation for his actions. He had almost fell out with his childhood best friend of almost twenty years because of his wife that he hadn’t known for more than three months. The irony was not just funny, it was hilarious but as Corey asked himself that if something like that should repeat itself, would he still take or make the decision he made before? Corey was shocked to realise that he would make the same decision without blinking or battling one eyelash.
